Pennsylvania casino introduced table games such as blackjack and craps just four months ago and in that time the addition of the games has proved to be a good decision. Just last month the casinos in the state managed to take in almost $41 million dollars from table games alone. The revenues were boosted from the SugarHouse casino which was open for one full month by the end of October. The Gaming Control Board in Pennsylvania released the figures just a few days ago and the report found that the ten casinos in the state earned a total of $40.9 million dollars from the just over 700 table games available.
The casinos are earning about half of what the rival city, Atlantic City, has been earning from their table games. The state now offers blackjack, roulette, craps and poker so players do not have to take a trip to neighboring states to enjoy the table games.
SugarHouse was able to really help the state increase their revenues. The casino cost over $350 million to create and earned $5.3 million was earned in the first month of game play. The revenues earned from the casino’s table games were listed as the fourth best among the casinos in Pennsylvania.
Blackjack has proven to be a popular choice among table game gamblers and it will be interesting to see how well the games do in the future. Will the casinos be able to one day surpass the earnings of Atlantic City? It seems as though since players do not have to travel and they can simply go down the street or just a few miles to enjoy table games, casinos in Pennsylvania are able to earn larger revenues.
