The Seminole Tribe of Florida recently announced that their Coconut Creek Casino will begin dealing blackjack on August 13th. The tribe has been working for years to add the games to their casinos and this is just another step in that process. Blackjack will begin at 3pm on August 13th and several celebrities will be on hand for the opening ceremonies. The casino will have twelve blackjack tables and the celebrities will be playing the first hands of the game. Those set to attend are: David Cassidy of the Partridge Family television show, Seminole Tribal Council members, Roy White a former New York
Yankee and Met Ed Kranepool.
The general manager of the casino Steve Bonner commented on the new gaming addition by stating: “We’ve been anticipating this day for years. Our players want real blackjack and we’re excited to be able to finally provide it to them for an even greater gaming experience.”
The Seminole Tribe has added several jobs to the area with the addition of blackjack. The casino added ninety blackjack dealers as well as twenty four managers. The casino now has a total of one hundred of forty five dealers working at the casino. The Seminole tribe will be paying $1 billion dollars to be able to provide blackjack to the area and they will be paying for five years to be able to provide the game.
