The Rivers Casino located in Pennsylvania is looking to add more blackjack table games to their property. The games have done so well after they were legalized in 2010 that the casino is looking to add nineteen more table games with blackjack included in the mix. If the games are added it would be the first major expansion for a casino since the games were deemed legal. The State Gaming Control Board must approve the addition and if they do so the casino would have one hundred and seven table games available. They would be the third largest table game provider in the state. The casino is also hoping to add on a second floor ballroom which would be 15,000 square feet and offer a view of the downtown skyline.
The Rivers vice president of gaming Corey Plummer commented: “Table games have been very well received, not only in Pittsburgh but in Pennsylvania. The demand is out there to increase table games, not only in quantity but in the variety of table games out on the floor.”
The casino would be adding nineteen table games and of these games six would be blackjack style tables. The tables would have live dealers but use electronic chips. The tables can also be used for other games such as three card poker. There would also be an addition of a rapid roulette table which would have a live dealer and wheel with individual betting terminals.
If the casino gains the approval of the board they are hoping to have the new games up and running within thirty days. The games would be placed in the main pit areas near the Levels bar. The cost of this project has yet to be released.
