The Rivers Casino is getting ready to open up this July and part of getting ready to open involves hiring table game dealers. The casino will be offering craps, roulette, blackjack and other games so they are currently hosting a dealer school to teach people how to become a dealer. They will be hiring four hundred employees to fill the dealer positions.
Seven hundred people showed up to attend the dealer school and they are now learning the ins and outs of the table games. The job hopefuls had to fill out an application online as well as participate in a group interview and take a math test. All of this had to be done before applicants were invited to attend the school.
The dealer school is ideally created to teach those who do not have any dealer experience. Albert Liu the vice president of the Rivers Casino commented that the school is worked by teachers who have a great deal of knowledge about the table games and students are taking classes that last four hours and take place five days a week.
Students are learning the proper procedures for each game like how to calculate payouts as well as deal cards and how to handle the sticks. The students and teachers work each day, simulating games and learning everything they need to know to be an effective dealer.
All of the students are hoping to get one of the four hundred dealer positions available. With only seven hundred students in the school, the odds are good that the majority of the students will soon be dealing blackjack, craps and other table games at the new casino when it opens this July.
