2010 has been a year of changes for the United States when it comes to gambling. There have been many positive changes, one of which is that several states are now offering table games, including the state of Pennsylvania. The laws were changed a few months ago in the state to allow table games at the casinos in the state. Casinos can now have blackjack games as well as tournaments and other table games as well. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board now has one gambling license left they can give away and this has caused a battle between many hotel resorts that are looking to gain the last license.
The board is looking for a specific type of resort to give the license to. The board would like to give the license to a smaller resort that appeals to out of state visitors, so they can bring more people in to enjoy the blackjack and other table game offerings.
The last license available will give the operator the ability to offer fifty table games as well as up to six hundred slot machines. This is an excellent opportunity and that is why so many hotel resorts are competing to earn the license. The blackjack games have especially become popular in the state and the hotels want to get in on the action.
It may be some time before the Board actually chooses the last hotel resort to gain the gambling license. There are many competing for the license and the Board has a tough decision ahead of them. It will be interesting to see which hotel resort the Board decides to give the license to and if they become a popular destination for those who live out of state to enjoy table games.
