Governor Rendel of Pennsylvania has finally singed a table games bill which legalizes blackjack, roulette and other table games in the state. Casinos in the state will now be able to add the games to their gaming floors for patrons to enjoy. The addition of table games to the casinos is expected to bring as many as 1,500 jobs to the area. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that the Rivers Casino will be adding around eighty gaming tables including sixty to sixty five for blackjack, roulette, craps and other games and fifteen to twenty for poker.
The Meadows Casino will be adding around forty table games as well as twenty five poker tables which will include a separate poker room. Presque Isle will be adding forty five to fifty table games but will not be adding poker tables.
This is a major success for casino operators in the state of Pennsylvania as they have wanted to add the table games for years. But even though they are now legalized, it will be around four to nine months before any games will be up and running at the areas casinos. The casinos will have to get the equipment as well as hire and train dealers to work the gaming tables.
