Back in July the state of Pennsylvania legalized table games. This meant that the state would now be offering blackjack as well as other table games. Because of the new addition of table games the casinos in the state have seen a large increase in revenues at the slot machines. Players are coming to the casinos to enjoy the new table games and then they are moving on to the slot machines. The casinos recently announced that the players have created an increase of 18% in slot machine play compared to last year.
Every casino in the state has seen an increase except two and one of the casinos has their best month yet with slot play. The Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem earned $24.5 million on slots for the month of July and a 25% increase year on year.
“It is too early to gauge a trend, but Pennsylvania casinos have indicated they have experienced a significant increase in the number of visitors since table games were rolled out in mid-July,” stated Kevin O’Toole the executive director of the Pennsylvania state lottery.
