The Hollywood Casino in Toledo is in full construction and students are now taking part in special blackjack classes in Perrysburg in the hopes of becoming dealers at the new casino. Classes are in full swing and those who are able to become dealers will have a very lucrative career. The Owens Community College in Perrysburg are holding the special classes and last week around forty people were learning how to deal cards as well as count chips and handle payouts to potential customers. The casino is set to open this coming spring and the classes last five weeks and dealers will be hired from the student list.
Neal Perry the director of table games at the new casino commented that being a blackjack dealer can be very exciting. The dealer of the games makes the event exciting. Perry went on to say the most if not all the dealers will come from the dealer school.
After the students have finished their training the company will host an audition process. The dealers who are hired are expected to earn from $16 to $22 an hour and that is including tips. The pay is the main draw for many attending the school. Many are unemployed and the pay is good so most are hoping to be hired as soon as the casino opens.
The classes cost only $200 to attend so students will definitely get their money’s worth if they are hired. Hopefully the casino will be able to accommodate all that have attended the school and many who are struggling with their finances will be able to get back on their feet.
