North Carolina could soon offer live dealer blackjack

Gambling is definitely opening up in the United States. Gambling facilities are starting to offer even more gambling options and online gambling looks to be in the near future. The state of North Carolina is now considering the addition of live dealer gaming such as blackjack and poker instead of video machines which is the only option currently available at the one casino in the state.

Lawmakers in the state are now trying to decide if they will allow the live dealer card games at the one casino in the state. The senate introduced the new legislation and it was passed on the very day it was introduced. The legislation was created to validate the changes that were agreed upon by the governor of the state and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

If the legislation is approved, live dealer games such as blackjack and poker would be allowed at the casino owned by the tribe and a portion of the revenues would go toward the state. The agreement is set for thirty years and the state would start out earning four percent and then increase to eight percent.

The bill would start out offering $1.2 million in new revenues in the beginning and it will create around 400 new jobs. The new bill essentially allows the Indian casino to offer live dealer games where they were only using machines.

The measure has now moved to the house and they will have to agree on the piece of legislation before it can move forward. If approved, the item would then need to be signed into law by the governor of the state.
