Bobby Florence is the creator of a new casino game called Royal 20’s which is a variant of the game of blackjack. Florence is a casino employee as well as a former UNLV Hall of Fame Basketball player and is hoping to be remembered for the creation of the new blackjack game. Florence’s new blackjack game can be played at the Gold Coast casino in Las Vegas on two gaming tables where players can try their luck. Florence stated he was a dealer for thirty years at the game of blackjack and he knows how hard it is to win. So he created a variation of the game which gives players a better chance of winning.
Florence had help from Boyd Gaming and now he is earning a paycheck from the royalties of the new game. Florence stated that the game is similar to the game of poker when a player can win hands on the river. The new game uses most of the standard rules of blackjack but allows players to use both good and bad hands.
The Royal 20’s game works as follows: players place their wager and then they can place a side bet of $1 to as high as $25. The player will then earn a 5-1 payout on the side bet if the dealer or the player has a Royal 20 which is any combo of queens, jacks or kings. Aces or ten’s are not good toward this payout.
Players will get a 10-1 payout if the dealer or the player has matching 20s. A matching 20 is two face cards of the same suit. 50-1 payouts are given if both the player and the dealer have a combination of queens, jacks or kings, no matter what the order. The player will earn a 100-1 payout if the player and the dealer have matching 20s of the same suit.
