Samuel Powshing Kung is a resident of Reno, Nevada who recently had bad luck at the blackjack tables. His bad luck streak continued as he took his anger out on his wife and murdered her after she called him a coward because he lost $20,000 at the blackjack and baccarat tables. Kung has now been convicted of murder and is awaiting his sentencing trial. Kung has pled guilty to second degree murder for the incident where he strangled his wife Gina back in July of last year. Kung’s wife found out that Kung had quit his job without telling her and instead of going to work; Kung was going to casinos and playing blackjack and baccarat games. In just one month Kung lost his families entire savings of $20,000.
Gina works two jobs and she found that the savings was missing after she was not able to pay the family household bills. After she confronted her husband he admitted to losing the money after his card counting system did not work. Gina then became angry and according to the court records Gina called her husband a coward and then made Kung very angry. Kung then put his hands around his wife’s neck and then killed her.
Kung then left the home and went toward a police officer and told him that he did a bad thing, killing his wife. Police then located the body and arrested Kung. Kung commented that he knew he had ruined his life and that he deserves to be punished. Kung awaits sentencing this March. It is most likely that Kung will receive life in prison.
