A blackjack dealer at the Mystic Lake Casino has been caught cheating at the blackjack tables. The casino caught their dealer paying beautiful women when they had loosing hands. Jacob Christensen was sentenced on January 20th for cheating the casino. The judge in the case was Diane Hanson and she sentenced the blackjack dealer to eighty hours of community service as well as three years of probation. The blackjack dealer must also pay back $18,720 to the Minnesota casino. Christensen pled guilty in court on charges of gambling fraud on January 6th.
The casino found that the dealer was caught on camera paying the women like they had won the hand instead of losing. Police looked very closely at the tapes and they discovered a pattern in the dealer's behavior. Once he was confronted, Christensen confessed what he had done and he claimed that he only rewarded the women he felt were 'good looking'. He would pay the women on losing hands even if he did not know them.
During the investigation, police found that the dealer paid one woman $3,875, one woman $9,500 and another woman just over $5,000. The dealer said he wanted to impress and meet beautiful women and that criminal intent nor greed were part of his plans.
The judge choose to believe the dealers motives and decided to go soft on his sentencing. Christensen will have to pay back the casino and do community service and he has now been added to the Black Book which is a list that bans players for life from a casino. Anyone else who may have been involved in the case, such as the women, have not been charged.
