All types of people visit casinos to enjoy blackjack games, wealthy people, vacationers, part time gamblers and the ambitious everyday gambler. However sometimes those who visit the blackjack tables are not what they seem. Recently a pair of fugitives wanted for murder was found sitting at the blackjack tables.
Jama Rhodes works at an Atlantic City doctor’s office and just a few days ago Rhodes saw a woman come in and ask about renting an apartment that was located in the same building. Rhodes spoke with the woman and gave her the number of the landlord so she could look into renting an apartment.
Later that night Rhodes co-worker Clare Magee was watching the nightly news and noticed a piece on a mother and son who were wanted for murder. Magee recognized the mother as the same woman who inquired about an apartment at the doctor’s office that same day. She called the hotline and tried to report the incident but did not get a response.
The very next day both Rhodes and Magee talked about the mother and son fugitives, Michelle Costello and Peter Costello. They were commenting that it would be funny if they ran into the fugitives again. That same night Rhodes visited the Resorts Atlantic City casino and just a few minutes after arriving she saw Michelle sitting at the blackjack tables.
She immediately called 911 and they told her to contact casino security. She approached a guard and he did not seem to believe her but then a supervisor recognized Michelle and very soon the pair of fugitives were arrested and taken to jail. So as you can see you can find just about any type of character at the blackjack tables. For her effort Rhodes was given a $40 food voucher from the casino.
