Two casino companies were recently fined large sums of money for allowing underage people to play games like blackjack. The two casino companies have casinos in Missouri, which is where the underage gambling took place. Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. was fined $60,000 and Ameristar Casino Inc. was fined $25,000 for allowing the underage gamblers to play games at the casinos. The Missouri Gaming Commission fined the companies on Wednesday.
Gene McNary, the Gaming Commission director, commented that the fines show that the commission is not going to tolerate any underage gambling. He stated: “That should get the message across that the law is clear," McNary said. "They (casino companies) are going to have to make the effort to make sure underage gamblers don't get on."
Two incidents happened in May at the Pinnacle’s Lumiere Place casino. A 19 year old was found gambling on the casino floor after he had played table games and an electronic gaming device. The very same day a twenty year old was found playing blackjack and roulette as well as being served alcohol.
At Ameristar’s casino a 19 year old was found on the gambling floor and was ID’d but then tried to get back on the gambling floor. He did not drink or gamble.
