Louisiana Blackjack Dealer Busted for Cheating

This past Wednesday a blackjack dealer at the Boomtown Casino in Louisiana was arrested for allegedly working with a casino patron to scam the casino. The dealer was accused by police of stealing more than $1,000 with the casino patron at the blackjack tables.

Both women, Tam T. Tran and Thanh T. Nguyen, were arrested and booked by police on theft of over $500 and cheating and swindling charges. Both the charges the ladies face are felonies and both remain in custody at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna.

Officials at the casino notified with police of the possible cheating scam after they viewed surveillance video of the two women playing the game of blackjack. The video showed Tran making large payouts to Nguyen and ignoring her losses. It has not yet been determined as to how long the scheme had been taking place or how much total money was taken from the casino. More information should come in the future as the state police finish up their investigation.
