The Isle of Capri Casinos in Colorado has decided not to change their blackjack payouts despite the fact that Colorado has made a new rule that changes governing blackjack payouts. Brian Watts the general manager of the Black Hawk, an Isle casino, stated they will not go down that path. Just last week the state’s Limited Gaming Control Commission approved a rule change that would allow casino operators to lower their blackjack payouts to 6 to 5.
This means that a $10 wager will see a return of $12 instead of the current rule which is 3 to 2 payout which would see a payout of $15 on a winning $10 bet. This ruling has made many blackjack players upset and it is nice to see the Isle Casinos deciding to opt out.
The Commission had a vote of 3-1 on the matter. Five members are on the panel but one was absent during the voting. Watts went on to state that the casinos may add a new variation of the game such as single deck blackjack that will feature the new payout. The change is set to take effect as of April 30th.
