Jenny Kephart has been in a two year court battle with an Indiana Casino due to the fact that she owes them money but does not think she has to pay up. Kephart has a gambling problem and lost $125,000 at the blackjack tables of the casino and has been in court since she lost the money. She says the employees should have denied the advancement of funds. The case will now be tried in the Supreme Court of Indiana. It was back in March of 2006 that Kephart visited the Caesars Riverboat Casino, which is now named the Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino. Kephart went on a gambling spree losing $125,000 in credit that was approved by the casino. Before she asked for the loan, Kephart had lost $8,000 of her own money. The majority of her loses came from constant play at the blackjack tables.
The case will now move to the Indiana Supreme Court next month to see if Kephart has to repay the casino. There is potential that the legal implications could move beyond the state of Indiana. Kephart does admit she has a gambling addiction but this is also her excuse on why she should not have to repay the credit to the casino.
