Colorado casino operators want to make changes to their blackjack games to bring in more money. Casino games are created so the house always wins but it seems that with the current economy casinos are not earning enough funds. They want to change the payouts of their blackjack games to bring in more revenue.Operators are asking permission to change their payouts on their blackjack games. The Denver Post recently reported that the current rules of the game have the minimum payout at 3-2 which means a $10 bet would pay out $15. They want to change the payout to 6-5 which would be the same bet but would pay out $12.
If operators get their way in Colorado the house’s take would change from 1.5% to 2.9 which is almost double the take for the house. This has customers in an uproar, so it will be interesting to see is the change actually happens. The casino may be hurting them more than helping.
