The first legalized online casino in the United States will be ready for business this September. The online casino will feature blackjack, poker and bingo and will be based in Washington DC. The DC lottery is behind the new site and they will be opening a free play site this July with real money games coming in September. Starting in July, gamblers will be able to enjoy both blackjack and Victory at Sea in a free play setting. By August 20th the online casino will add bingo, poker, scratch cards and other number games. They will also be in the free play mode. By September 8th 2011 the site will go live with real money play available for the existing games.
With the new site going up this month, players will be able to learn how the site works and get a feel for the various games. that way, once the real money play option is open, players will already know how to work the site.
Players will have to be from Washington DC to be able to enjoy the online casino games once they made a deposit. Players will only be allowed to deposit a maximum of $250 a week and the only methods of deposit that will be allowed will be cash, debit card or money order.
It will be interesting to see if the launch of this new site will spawn a slew of sites popping up all across the United States. Millions of people would love to be able to gamble online and if the DC casino is a success, many other states may follow suit.
