The owner of a local restaurant in Bristol was surprised when $20,000 and a ring box and receipt were found at his restaurant. Mike Siino owns Nacho Mamma’s and just a few days ago he found a bag of cash left in a booth. The bag had $20,000 of cash wrapped in a Mohegan Sun bag and it was later discovered that the bag belonged to a professional blackjack player. Siino stated that since he opened his restaurant last summer customers have left personal items behind but never nothing of this magnitude. Siino took the bag and placed it behind the counter of the restaurant and looked at it again that afternoon to see if there was any way of identifying whose it was.
Inside the bag were a jewelry box and a receipt for a ring as well as the bundles of cash. A patrolman came by sometime later and took the money to the police station. Later on Siino was contacted by the man who had lost the money. He said he probably left something important there and Siino told him the bag was the police station.
A few days later the police department investigated the matter and found out that the man was a professional blackjack player and he had left the bag while visiting the restaurant. Siino stated that he heard from the man a few days later and he acted like it was no big deal. Siino said the man was embarrassed about leaving the money at the restaurant since he is a professional gambler.
Siino earned a $1,000 reward for being honest and he states it is the largest tip he has ever received. He will use the money on his business.
