The Twin River slot parlor is located in Lincoln, Rhode Island and they offer gamblers just a few options when it comes to casino game play but in the next few years the parlor could be adding games such as blackjack to their offerings. A bill was introduced into legislation last week which is asking for a public referendum in 2012 on whether or not blackjack and other casino style games should be added to the parlor. Patti Doyle is a spokeswoman for Twin River and she made the legislation public last Wednesday. The new legislation would allow the following specifically: “all table and casino style games played with cards, dice or equipment, for money, credit or any representative of value including, but not limited to roulette, blackjack, big six, craps, poker, baccarat, pai gow, any baking or percentage game.”
Voters will be given a specific question in the next general election which will ask: “Shall an act be approved which would authorize the facility known as Twin River in the town of Lincoln to add state-operated casino gaming, such as table games, to the types of gambling it offers?”
Doyle also stated that Twin River is in support of legislation which in turn supports the wishes of the Town of Lincoln. The town had requested the General Assembly to address the issue of table games at Twin River.
If the games are added to the parlor then over six hundred jobs would be added as well as $65 million in new economic activity would be brought in to the area. Representative William San Bento who is the chairman of the General Assembly’s Lottery oversight committee introduced the bill and referred it to the House of Finance Committee.
