Atlantic City casino, Tropicana, is planning on adding gaming options in a very unique place. The Tropicana casino has decided they are going to add the game of blackjack as well as other electronic table games to their mall called the Quarter, which houses retail and entertainment options. The Tropicana is struggling to earn revenues and they are hoping that moving the electronic table games such as blackjack to the Quarter will be just the thing to jazz up their gambling offerings. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Entertainment stated this is the first time the resort will add games to a non gambling area. The Division just approved the test phase for these games back in August and the
casino is now ready to offer the games full time.
It is believed that since the Tropicana is now going to offer gambling, shopping, entertainment and dining in one area, many other casinos in the area will do the same. David L. Rebuck the acting director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement commented on the subject by stating:
“For the first time in gaming history, expansion of gaming operations has extended into an area located on the city side of Pacific Avenue.” The new offering is sure to be a hit because it will be in direct location with other options. Who wouldn’t want to eat a little dinner then walk right up to an electronic blackjack game to enjoy a little gambling? It seems that most everyone will, and the option is sure to become quite popular with residents as well as out of town visitors.
